If you want to measure your blood glucose, is it okay to apply glucose test strips to blood from minor wounds?
You get the most accurate results from the fingertips. You could use blood from a scraped knee, for instance, if it was relatively clean- but I wouldn't use that number as absolute truth.
Your fingertips have the most accurate and current blood sugar readings. Blood from your forearm or thigh could be off especially if your number is changing rapidly.
It's best to test on the fingers especially when trying to dose insulin or if you feel like you might be going low.
Alternate site testing is a relief and can save us some pain/scarring in the fingers but in my opinion there is a certain time and place for each.
Also I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by "alternative lancets."
