What are the best skin care remedies for acne?
I have acne and have sold acne products to many happy clients in my former job. I'm not a physician, but I have been around acne for many, many years.
Benzoyl Peroxide (micronized) and tretinoin (is also widely regarded as the best anti-aging ingredient there is but originally was used for acne treatment).
Micronized benzoyl peroxide allows the skin to better tolerate the treatment (to kill the bacteria causing the acne) because the un-micronized molecule is large and much more likely to irritate the skin.
Both of these ingredients will help considerably, just commit to using them for at least a month and take a before & after picture every month.
I've seen amazing results with these two ingredients. My personal favorite is the ZO Medical Aknetrol and generic tretinoin.
I observed that every autumn, acne comes in my face. Is there any reason?
I know of no research that would confirm it, but my suspicion is that the surge in acne that you see in the fall is potentially due to stress associated with going back to school, changes in the weather (cooler temperatures may affect your skin, being in the sun less, etc.), and other changes to your life — sleep schedule, diet, change of residence and others. In any event, to deal with it, you should be even more diligent with whatever acne treatment you use, such as regularly washing your face and using prescribed acne medicine. Get to know your skin, too; pay attention to when your acne gets better or worse and try to associate it with anything different you have recently done.

How do I fade acne marks from my face?
I had acne marks till last year. However, i decided i had to get over it.
So following are the things i did :
1. I apply lightly diluted lemon juice on face, keeps it on for some 15 minutes, washes it off with water. I have been doing this almost religiously for some months, and i got very good results.
2. Decided to believe on old good ways - Vicco turmeric. Applied every night, washed it off in the morning. Improves complexion and fades marks to a great extent.
3. Eat lots of fruits and drink lot of water. I drink 3-4 liters of water a day, which clears the skin.
4. Clean your water with rosewater before bed.
5 . Use face-wash only 2-3 times a day, wash your face with plain water whenever needed.
These ways just fades the scars to an extent. Neither any of this completely remove the scars. For completely wiping out any scars, consult a dermatologist.
What are the best non-prescription treatments for acne?
Acne is a disease of the hair follicle, caused by a combination of both internal and external factors. Abnormal build-up of skin cells causes a plug at the opening of the hair follicle, creating a clogged pore, the first step in acne lesion formation. The clogged pore accumulates keratin, oil (sebum) and bacteria until it ruptures, releasing this mixture into the skin and causing inflammation. This inflammation can lead to painful cyst/abscess formation and scarring.
Acne lesions can be non-inflamed whiteheads and blackheads (comedones), pustules, red papules, cysts or nodules. There are medications available over the counter that can treat the comedones, papules and pustules. No over the counter medications reach deep enough to treat cysts or nodules.
The most effective medication in acne treatments is benzoyl peroxide, which is available over the counter (OTC). It comes as washes, creams and gels, and there are a number of different brands. It is a keratolytic, which helps with with the clogging of the pore that creates comedones. It is also the only acne medication to which the bacteria associated with acne (Propionobacterium acnes) has never become resistant. It also helps with excess oiliness of the skin.
Benzoyl peroxide comes in different strengths. Studies have shown that lower strengths work just as well as higher strengths, but have fewer side effects. So I recommend using 2-4 % as opposed to 10% benzoyl peroxide.
Other OTC medications for acne include salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acids and sulfur/resorcinol combinations. All of these have keratolytic (anti-comedone) properties and can decrease oiliness of the skin. Sulfur/resorcinol combinations have some anti-inflammatory properties as well, which makes them helpful for papules and pustules.
Just to add, acne medications like benzoyl peroxide need to be applied to the entire area where acne is present, not only as treatment but as a preventative as well.
Just applying the medication to the lesions themselves does only half the job.
Consistency of application is also important. These medications may be irritating if used every day. So I recommend starting every other day and increasing after 2-3 weeks to every day. If every day is irritating, continue on a less frequent but steady schedule, let's say Monday and Thursday of every week.
What are natural ways to clear acne fast?
Skin care is such an ambiguous topic most of the time. The differences in skin between people heavily changes the effectiveness of any remedy (natural or not). If you are truly looking for a way to help with acne naturally, then you must look at what naturally occurring process causes the acne to appear.
Acne can show up on your face, neck, chest, back and shoulders. It is because these spots on your body tend to have the most oil (sebaceous) glands. Acne will generally occur when hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells.
Factors such as hormones, medications, diet, and stress level play a significant role as well.
That being said, there are natural remedies that will independently speak to each of these issues. There will be a natural remedy for oil removal, then an entirely different remedy for diet, and another for stress. I am sorry to say there is no one-size-fits-all silver bullet. But, you may be able to create some sort of regiment to improve the health of your skin.
How do I naturally cure my acne?
Forget expensive creams and complicated routines. ESPECIALLY avoid the expensive ones. ESPECIALLY the ones that have status-y names attached to them.
When my daughter was a teenager, she developed some acne which really bothered her (naturally).
I was working at a Yale-affiliated hospital at the time, and had access to all the on-line journals about dermatology. The best remedies were easily available in a drug store for mild to moderately severe acne.
Look for products that contain 0.5% - 2.0% salicylic acid (SA(. This a mild concentration of the same active ingredient in wart remover and aspirin. If you've had chemistry, you may have had to make your own salicylic acid in lab.
The concentration in aspirin and wart remover is much higher.
Here's a link to the National Institutes of Health where you can look up evidence-based studies on what works.
Treatment of acne vulgaris with salicylic acid pads.
They also say benzoyl peroxide (?sp) is good, but when I researched it, they recommended SA first.
It clears up about 70% of all acne. You can buy it in Neimann Marcus or you can buy it in your local Dollar Store. It's still the same stuff. The jar may be fancier at Neimann Marcus, but for the $80 difference, you can buy a pretty nice jar.
Some people have mild allergic reactions but they are rare. I don't know if you'd consider it "natural." It does exist in plant form, but it's easier to compound out of chemicals.
If your acne worsens or really bothers you, see a dermatologist for stronger treatments. Most of these need careful monitoring and can have some pretty nasty side effects.
